The title of his post should actually be: “Just because it’s a Brand New House doesn’t Mean it’s Perfect.”
My favorite part of the bathroom? The tile! I was heartbroken that we couldn’t have marble or marble look counters in our kitchen (the countertops were already picked and installed when we looked at our house). I take a small bit of solace in the fact that I have at least something marble patterned in my home.
There was a big space under the window and we ended up moving our dresser into the space. I think this might be an awesome place for a vanity or makeup station in the future.
We added the cabinet over the toilet. Its this one from Amazon. I’ve actually bought this cabinet twice now – once in our old house and once for this house. It’s easy to assemble and has held up well so far. We considered special ordering a cabinet that matched the vanity, but honestly I am not in love with them and the toilet is in its own room.
Now for the future projects:
1.) I think the vanity is weirdly long and needs a cabinet in between the two mirrors. I HATE having things on countertops and could really use some extra storage space
I am thinking something like this, but obviously would plan to order a version that matched our vanity. I’d also like to order some pretty mirrors with frames on them.
2.) There is an awkward space at the end of the vanity.
Are we supposed to put a laundry hamper here? I don’t love the idea of looking at a hamper full of laundry. I am considering ordering a floor to ceiling cabinet that matches the vanity. I am thinking that there could be a hamper in the bottom of the cabinet with additional shelving for cleaning supplies.
3.) Right now our bathroom is pretty builder basic (with an awesome marble look floor!). I am hoping to add some decorative touches, but want to take some time to think about the exact look I want.
4.) I desperately want some heated towel warmers, but I haven’t found a great place for them.
To be continued…..
